London-based investor in renewable energy Octopus Investments is planning to launch a $196 million fund in the U.K.

London-based investor in renewable energy Octopus Investments is planning to launch a $196 million fund in the U.K., Bloomberg reports. The new offering will finance rooftop solar panels on business properties. The vehicle, which is financed by retail investors, will be launched by Dec. 31, 2011. London-based clean energy company Freetricity is among the candidates for providing the financial support.
