German fund manager, Universal-Investment, has partnered with quantitative asset manager, Staedel Hanseatic, to launch a commodity fund, Citywire reports. The Stay-C Commodity Fund UI will use performance swaps on the STAY-C Strategy Main Index. At present, the Newcits vehicle is invested in a selection of nine commodity futures on corn, crude oil, coffee, gold, silver, fuel oil, livestock, gasoline and sugar. The fund will seek to benefit from increase in the commodity markets and target investors looking for protection from inflation.
