UC RUSAL has paid back $529 million of debt to its international and Russian lenders, Reuters reports. The Russian aluminum producer repaid $517 million on April 20 and another $12 million will be repaid by the end of the month using the funds received from a $501.5 million bond issue. Earlier in March this year, RUSAL repaid $835 million of debt using free operating cash and proceeds from another rouble-denominated bond. The total amount repaid to the lenders by RUSAL, since it started the debt restructuring agreement, is $4 billion.
