Ian Roberts, former managing director and portfolio manager at Singapore hedge fund Artradis, has set up an investment/corporate finance advisory boutique firm, Asian Investor reports. Blackpeak Group has finished its first round of capital-raising, partly subscribed by Vulpes Investment Management, and will target institutions planning Asian investments.
Roberts will be supported by Jack Clode and Chris Leahy, former executives of Kroll Associates, and Nicholas Bryan-Brown, ex-head of HSBC Investment Banking. Roberts and Bryan-Brown will be based in Singapore, Clode and Leahy will be located in Hong Kong. The firm also has an office in Tokyo and intends to set up another in China.
