Commodities trading on NYSE Liffe rose 76% in May 2010, 5.1% more than in April, Bloomberg reports. The NYSE Liffe reported average daily volume of 81,000 contracts in May, as compared to 85,000 contracts a day for the year to date.
As per the data, milling wheat futures trading was 28% more than in April at 539,928 contracts and more nearly times the total of May 2010. The exchange’s data shows that white sugar futures trading lowered 21% from April to 102,324 contracts and cocoa futures rose 55% at 364,557 contracts.
