U.S. private equity firm, KKR, has appointed Patricia Russo as an independent director, Bloomberg reports. Russo previously served as CEO of Lucent Technologies, which spun out from AT&T, from 2002 until 2006.
After its merger with Alcatel in 2006, she remained CEO in the newly-merged company until 2008. At present, she is a director on the boards of aluminum producer Alcoa, pharmaceutical company Merck, auto giant General Motors and IT company Hewlett Packard.
