Citigroup’s senior proprietary trader Sutesh Sharma is preparing to unveil his own hedge fund, Financial Times reports. Sharma at present heads the bank’s $2 billion Principal Strategies division. Citi will provide seed investment for his newly registered U.K. firm Portman Square Capital.
The firm will be run from the bank’s alternative asset management platform Citi Capital Advisors. Previously, Sharma managed the $4 billion hedge fund Old Lane Partners along with Citi CEO Vikram Pandit.
