DNAnexus, California-based DNA data management and analysis platform, has raised $15 million in the second-round venture capital financing. The investment round was led by Google Ventures, venture capital investment arm of Google Inc., and TPG Biotech, life science venture investment arm of TPG. Institutional investors First Round Capital, SoftTech VC, K9 Ventures and Felicis Ventures also participated. The company plans to use the proceeds to boost hiring and accelerate product development. Krishna Yeshwant of Google Ventures and Geoff Duyk of TPG Biotech have joined DNAnexus’ board of directors. The firm has been founded by Andreas Sundquist, Arend Sidow and Serafim Batzoglou.
