Nigel Williams has been appointed by Australia and New Zealand Banking Group (ANZ) chief risk officer and a member of the ANZ management board. Since 2008, he was managing director, institutional Australia, and managing director, institutional, corporate and commercial banking in New Zealand before that.
William replaces Chris Page, who is stepping down from his role but will continue to offer advice to ANZ and will represent ANZ on the boards of a number of ANZ’s partnership banks in Asia. William, who will be reporting to CEO Mike Smith, joined ANZ in 2004 after the bank acquired National Bank of New Zealand.
