Colombian financial conglomerate, Grupo Aval, has begun the process of registering its stock in the U.S., The Wall Street Journal reports. It has filed a registration statement with the Securities and Exchange Commission with the aim of registering its preferred stock in the U.S. The registration does not amount to an initial public offering. The Colombian financial group had obtained the approval of its shareholders in December to commence the process for an initial public offering abroad.
