Rockhopper To Put $2B In Falkland Oil Plan

U.K. oil group Rockhopper Exploration is aiming to invest $2 billion in the Falkland Islands.

U.K. oil group Rockhopper Exploration is aiming to invest $2 billion in the Falkland Islands, Reuters reports. The company will make the commitment to develop offshore petroleum production to the north of the islands, adds The Independent.

Rockhopper may start pumping oil in 2016 and production will raise a maximum of around 120,000 barrels of oil per day by 2018. The plans for funding the project have not been disclosed by the company yet.
