ICAP Patent Brokerage, a division of ICAP, has signed a marketing cooperation agreement with 3M Future regarding a patent providing credit card security, Finextra reports. The solution allows a mobile smart phone to act as a secure and advanced credit card and also allows for toll-taking on card payments from these phones. Through this technology, even if the credit card number and other details are accessible to fraudsters, unauthorized use of such protected card is impossible as only the owner of the credit card can switch the card ON and OFF from the mobile smart phone. A credit card secured with this technology will work with any merchant.
