Millennium BCP To Boost Capital By €1.1B

Portuguese bank, Millennium BCP, is planning to increase its capital by €1.12 billion.

Portuguese bank, Millennium BCP, is planning to increase its capital by €1.12 billion, Reuters reports. The bank may swap existing BCP perpetual bonds with new shares worth €1 billion. The remaining rights issue will be done by incorporation of issue premium. The bank expects to raise its core tier one ratio to about 8.5-9% after the planned rights issue from 6.7% at the end of 2010.
