Money management firm, MSD Capital, has raised about $780 million for a hedge fund that will invest in energy companies, Bloomberg reports. New York-based MSD Energy Partners received the backing of 25 investors.
The fund will be managed by Brian Frank, a former employee at Cumberland Associates. MSD Capital was founded in 1998 by Michael Dell, founder and chairman of Dell, to manage his family’s investments.
