S&P Indices has unveiled a tradable index, comprising Colombia, Indonesia, Vietnam, Egypt, Turkey and South Africa stocks. The S&P CIVETS 60 index consists of 10 liquid stocks trading on each relevant domestic exchange within the six CIVETS countries.
The modified market capitalization-weighted index is expected to serve as the basis for ETFs in Europe and Asia. In order to be included in the S&P CIVETS 60, stocks are required to have a float-adjusted market capitalization above $500 million.
