Munich Re is seeking to invest about €2.5 billion in renewable energy assets over the next five years.

Munich Re is seeking to invest about €2.5 billion in renewable energy assets over the next five years, Bloomberg reports. The investments may be made in wind parks and solar plants to increase investment returns.

The reinsurer invested about €40 million in 40 wind turbines in Germany at the start of 2011. Renewable energy investments offer cash flows, which are to an extent predictable in the long term.
