According to Lipper, a unit of Thompson Reuters, mutual funds focusing on speculative-grade bonds gathered about $885 million inflow in the week ended July 6, 2011, The Wall Street Journal reports. The high-yield bonds faced $320 million outflow in the previous week.
According to the Merrill Lynch High Yield Master II Index, junk bonds reported a 0.896% gain in the week ended July 6, 2011. The bonds have risen to 5.44% in 2011 to date.
