CIBC World Markets boosted its equity capital markets (ECM) and foreign exchange sales operations in Toronto and Hong Kong, The Wall Street Journal reports. Sandro Morassutti, who was with Brookfield Financial, is joining CIBC World’s equity capital markets operation in Toronto.
Kenny Chan has become a director within the firm’s financial solutions group and will focus on foreign exchange sales, adds FinanceAsia. Most recently, Chan was at Standard Chartered Bank in Hong Kong. Soo Chin Tan, who was with German bank WestLB, has also joined CIBC as an executive director in FX trading.
