Cargill is seeking to acquire global animal nutrition company Provimi from European private equity firm Permira for €1.5 billion. The Rotterdam-based firm’s animal nutrition operations are spread across 26 countries and consist of more than 7,000 employees in Asia, Europe, Africa and Latin America. JP Morgan Chase is managing the sale, adds The Wall Street Journal. Credit Suisse advised Cargill on the deal. Nutreco and Royal DSM were also considering a joint bid for the deal.
