Alternative asset management and financial services company Blackstone Group and global private equity firm Advent International are understood to be interested in buying U.K.’s National Fostering Agency (NFA), AltAssets reports. It is estimated that the sale of Britain’s second-largest fostering agency could fetch up to £135 million.
NFA is located in north London and provides fostering services for more than 175 British local bodies. Reportedly, Teachers’ Private Capital, the private equity division of Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan, is also interested in the sale. London-based buy and build specialist Sovereign Capital bought a controlling stake in NFA in 2006 and is now looking to offload the business.
