ConocoPhillips’ board of directors has named Ryan Lance as chairman and CEO of the upstream company and Greg Garland as chairman and CEO of the downstream company. The two independent energy companies are the result of the strategic repositioning of ConocoPhillips.
The duo will replace Jim Mulva, present chairman and CEO of ConocoPhillips, who will retire after the separation’s completion. Lance and Garland will take up their respective roles after the completion of ConocoPhillips’ repositioning transaction next year. They will remain in senior management roles until that time.
