Puerto Rico has selected Goldman Sachs Infrastructure Partners II for a $1.08 billion public private partnership, Reuters reports. As a part of the contract, Goldman Sachs will be operating two main roads of the Caribbean island for 40 years.
The Autopistas Metropolitanas de Puerto Rico consortium involved Abertis Infraestructuras and offered a payment of 12.5% more than a competing offer by a consortium, including Morgan Stanley Infrastructure and OHL Concesiones. The bid was 20% more than the $902 million internal estimate of the government.
