New York-based fashion site, Gilt Groupe, has raised $138 million in a Series E offering, All Things Digital reports. Participants in the fifth round include Softbank Group, the Japanese-based telecom conglomerate, as well as Gilt’s previous investors, General Atlantic and Matrix Partners. Other new investors include Goldman Sachs, New Enterprise Associates, Draper Fisher Jurvetson Growth, Pinnacle Ventures, TriplePoint Capital and Eastward Capital. The sale proceeds will be used to launch new verticals and make acquisitions to get into new markets. The firm will also invest a smaller undisclosed amount with Gilt Groupe Japan and the duo will each own 50% of the joint venture.
