Michael Luk has been recruited by the largest banking group in New Zealand and Pacific, Australia and New Zealand Banking Group (ANZ), as global head of debt origination and head of capital markets Asia. Based in Hong Kong, he will be reporting to Cathryn Carver, ANZ’s global head of capital markets and Richard Huston, head of markets Asia Pacific, Europe and America. Luk is due to join ANZ on November 23.
Luk will be in charge of the next phase of growth of ANZ’s capital markets platform across Asia and the development of its international bond origination operations. He succeeds Reuben Tucker, who is returning to New Zealand. Previously, Luk worked with Bank of America Merrill Lynch as managing director, head of Asia Pacific debt capital markets.
