Brookfield Asset Management has raised $587.2 million form a sale of its common shares. The Canadian asset management firm sold around 17.5 million shares of the company.
The Ontario-based firm may use the sale proceeds for general corporate purposes, including funding a portion of acquisition of additional common shares in U.S. mall operator, General Growth Properties. The offering comprised 15.3 million shares and an over-allotment option of 2.2 million shares that was exercised by the underwriters.
