Experian Buys $400M Colombia’s Computec

Experian will buy Colombian credit information provider, Computec, for $400 million.

Experian will buy Colombian credit information provider, Computec, for $400 million, Financial Times reports. The transaction is subject to regulatory approval and delisting of shares, but the U.K. company anticipates to complete the deal in 2011.

Computec manages Colombia’s consumer credit database and provides services such as credit reports and fraud prevention. In 2007, the U.K. credit-checking company had acquired Brazilian credit consultancy, Serasa.
