Mitsubishi has launched the country’s first real estate fund that invests in datacenters, Bloomberg reports. Diamond Realty Management, a unit of Mitsubishi, started the $335.6 million fund with investment from its parent, domestic institutional investors and pension funds. The fund offers at least 8% average annual return. It owns three datacenters occupied by Softbank, the exclusive provider of Apple’s iPhone in Japan. Mitsubushi is seeking to benefit from the $17 billion data center market amid rising demand after the earthquake in March.
