National Stock Exchange (NSE) has reached the $500 million milestone in the value of currency options traded, Economic Times reports. On Jan. 21, 2011, 508,750 contracts worth about $509 million were traded in currency options on the NSE. The previous high was achieved on Jan. 17, 2011 when 322,205 contracts valued at $ 322 million were traded. The Securities and Exchange Board of India had approved currency trading by NSE and the Bombay Stock Exchange-backed United Stock Exchange in 2010.
