France Telecom is planning to acquire a 49% stake in video-sharing web site, Dailymotion, Reuters reports. France Telecom, which markets its services under the brand name Orange, will pay about €58.8 million for the stake in the French start-up.
Private equity and venture capital funds, including Atlas Ventures and Partech, will sell a part of their shares in Dailymotion to Orange. French sovereign wealth fund, Fonds Strategique d’Investissement (FSI), will retain its holding after a €7.5 million investment in Dailymotion.
