Avrio Ventures Raises $50M For Fund

Avrio Ventures’ second fund has raised $50 million at its first closing.

Avrio Ventures’ second fund has raised $50 million at its first closing. The Avrio Ventures LLP II, with a target size of $100 million before the end of the first quarter of 2012, is focused on later-stage venture investments in the food and agriculture sector. Additionally, the venture capital firm has appointed Tom Kaneb, previously with Miralta Capital, as a partner. Avrio Ventures was established in 2006 when Farm Credit Canada’s venture capital division spun out its direct investment business.
