A consortium of 12 banks will offer about $1.46 billion to a coal-fired power plant in northern Vietnam, Reuters reports. The banks arranging the loan include CIC Bank, DZ Bank and Korea Eximbank. The plant will receive $1.95 billion in August 2011. The thermal plant, which is 30% owned by POSCO Power and 19% by China Investment Corporation, is operated by AES-VCM Mong Duong Power.
