Dish Network will acquire satellite company, DBSD North America, The Wall Street Journal reports. The U.S. pay-tv provider will pay a total of about $1 billion for the acquisition.
The buyer will also provide a debtor-in-possession credit facility worth $87.5 million to DBSD, which is currently in bankruptcy. The transaction, which also includes interest accruing on DBSD’s debt, needs approval from the Federal Communications Commission.
