Equity hedge fund firm, AlphaTran Capital, is closing operations, Reuters reports. The firm was launched in 2008 by Damien Tran, a former partner at the Children’s Investment fund, and Christophe Puyo, a former executive of Societe Generale Asset Management. Christophe Beauvilain, the third co-founder of the firm, is now a founder of Perenne Capital. At the time of its launch, the long/short equity fund was seeded by Thames River Capital.
