RIT Capital Partners’ Chairman Jacob Rothschild has set foot in Beijing to launch a new private equity fund, Financial Times reports. The J Rothschild Creat Partners fund will raise renminbi in China and invest it abroad, with the aim of obtaining $750 million from Chinese companies by the year end.
The fund will focus on sectors, such as clean energy, pharmaceuticals, natural resources and brands. The returns from the new fund will be driven by China’s growing spending power and other emerging markets.
