The Universities Superannuation Scheme (USS) is seeking to set up a new investment subsidiary, Financial News reports. The pension fund is creating USS Investment Management (USSIM) for the transparent allocation of responsibility of daily investment decisions to its in-house fund managers. The venture will be launched in 2012. Though the USS’ trustee board will not be involved in the investment decisions of the scheme, it will stay in overall command of the pension scheme, managing USSIM and setting its strategic asset allocation.
