North American asset manager RBC Global Asset Management (RBC GAM) has appointed Matthew Appelstein as head of distribution, Pensions & Investments reports. In the newly created position, he will report to Mike Lee, CEO of RBC GAM (U.S). The U.S business accounts for $41 billion out of the total $250 billion in assets under management with the parent company.
Appelstein will be responsible for addressing the increasingly complex market challenges and client needs. Most recently, he was an executive vice president and head of global distribution at Old Mutual Asset Management (Omam), subsidiary of London-based international financial services group Old Mutual.
