Teachers’ Private Capital and the $37.3 billion Teachers’ Retirement System of the State of Illinois have invested in finance company NXT Capital, Global Pensions reports. The system has contributed $125 million from its $12.04 billion private equity portfolio. Both existing and new investors have made equity commitments of $318 million. NXT’s total equity value has reached $850 million with the new fundraising round.
New investors in the deal include Credit Suisse Group’s Customized Fund Investment Group and Oak Hill Investment Management, a subsidiary of PartnerRE. Teachers’ Private Capital is a division of the $106.4 billion Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan. NXT’s financing solutions are sold to middle-market and emerging-growth companies, with deal targets of up to $150 million with a hold size of up to $30 million.
