Standard Chartered Bank has hired Peter Baird as head of private equity for Africa, Bloomberg reports. The bank has invested $300 million in the continent and is looking at further expansion. Baird will be based in Johannesburg and report to Alastair Morrison, global co-head of private equity, adds Banking Business Review. Before joining the U.K. bank, he was an adviser to Vantage Capital.
