Brazil’s Braskem is acquiring a Dow Chemical unit for $340 million. The purchase price will include $323 million in cash plus other cash and contingency assumptions of $17 million.

The Texas plant will increase Braskem’s U.S. capacity by about 50%, adds The Wall Street Journal. The deal, which pending regulatory approval, is expected to close by the third quarter of this year.
