MetLife is looking to acquire ING Groep’s operations in Latin America, Bloomberg reports. The purchase of the Dutch financial-services company’s insurance unit will be valued at $3 billion in cash. The U.S. life insurance company’s existing unit in the region will support the deal. ING is under the European Union command to offload its insurance business as part of an agreement for receiving state help during the financial crisis.
