CME Group is seeking to establish a new futures exchange in London to capture more emerging market business, Reuters reports. The parent company of the New York Mercantile Exchange has already secured regulatory approval for a European clearinghouse in London. The CME Clearing Europe will focus on OTC trade and energy swaps and provide the company with long-term strategic flexibility. About 20 banks have already agreed to participate in CME’s new venture.
