SEC Appoints Money Market Fund Pro

The Securities and Exchange Commission has appointed Sharon Pichler to oversee the $2.8 trillion money market fund industry.

The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has appointed Sharon Pichler to oversee the $2.8 trillion money market fund industry, Pensions & Investments reports. Pichler joined the SEC on Nov. 22, 2010 as a senior financial analyst and money market fund specialist. She previously worked with Janus Capital Group as a portfolio manager. Until now the associate director of the SEC’s Division of Investment Management, Robert Plaze, was the agency’s sole expert on money market funds.
