The San Bernardino County (Calif.) Employees’ Retirement Association has appointed Don Pierce as CIO, Pensions & Investments reports. Since November 2010, he was serving as interim CIO, succeeding Timothy Barrett, executive director and CIO, who left to join Eastman Kodak Co. as director of pension investments.
Pierce has been an investment officer at the $6.06 billion system since 2001. Separately, the retirement system’s investment committee also recommended that the association float a request for proposal for a minimum of one emerging markets debt manager for a portfolio of approximately $120 million.
