EDF EN Canada will acquire Renewable Energy Systems (RES) Canada’s 30% stake in Saint-Laurent Energies (SLE), The Wall Street Journal reports. Upon the completion of the deal, SLE and the projects will be wholly owned by France’s EDF Energies Nouvelles’ Canadian unit.
The French company will also acquire ownership interests in the seven Quebec wind energy projects owned jointly by EDF EN Canada and Montreal-based RES Canada. EDF Energies Nouvelles is 50% owned by Electricite de France.
