Silver Lake is seeking invest a total of about $1 billion in Brazilian information technology companies, Reuters reports, citing Valor Economico. The U.S. private equity firm will put the money in IT companies for the next five years.
Brazilian firms in areas, such as data centers, video games, telecommunications and software are the targets for Silver Lake. The firm, which had bought a 20% stake in Brazilian web hosting company, Locaweb in September, for $68 million, is also mulling opening an office in Sao Paulo.
