University of Southern California’s $2.9 billion endowment has appointed Lisa Mazzocco as its first CIO, Pensions & Investments reports. Mazzocco was previously the CIO of the $37 billion Los Angeles County Employees’ Retirement Association (LACERA). Mazzocco will join the endowment on April 18, 2011. LACERA has appointed its principal investment officer, real estate, John McClelland, as the interim CIO.
