Bank Of Montreal (BMO) has received all regulatory approvals to acquire Marshall & Ilsley (M&I). The Canadian bank will not proceed with a common share offering related to the acquisition, which was previously disclosed to be less than $400 million. The buyer will pay a total of $4.1 billion for the purchase of the U.S. bank, adds Reuters. As a part of the deal, M&I shareholders will get 0.1257 of a BMO common share for each share in M&I.
