The University of Cambridge’s endowment fund increased by 16.1 percent in the year ended June, Reuters reports. The Cambridge University Endowment Fund (CUEF) stood at $2.47 billion before the markets began to plummet because of the euro zone debt crisis. The gain in the world’s no. 1 ranked university’s endowment fund still trails the Yale University and the Harvard University’s endowment funds’ respective growth of 21.9 percent and 21.4 percent. CUEF handles the central assets of Cambridge University and is managed by an investment board chaired by U.K. global asset manager Schroders’ CEO Michael Dobson.
