Warner Music has received bids from Kohlberg Kravis Roberts (KKR) and two other potential bidders for some or the entire U.S. music group, Financial Times reports. It has appointed Goldman Sachs to seek buyers for the third largest music company in the U.S. The early talks may lead to a sale of the Warner-Chappell music publishing business, which could in turn help finance a Warner bid for its U.K. rival, EMI. The Warner-Chappell sale may fetch $2-2.5 billion.
