Gates Foundation To Put $44M In Two Schemes

The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation will be investing $35 million in grants in two family health initiatives for women and children.

The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation will be investing $35 million in grants in two family health initiatives for women and children. The programs are part of the Grand Challenges in Global Health scheme, a global partnership for scientific and technological research addressing global health and development challenges.

A $20 million grant will go to the Seattle children’s initiative Preventing Preterm Birth, managed in association with the Global Alliance for the Prevention of Prematurity and Stillbirth. The Discover New Ways to Achieve Healthy Growth initiative will receive $15 million. The Gates Foundation will also invest an additional $9 million in the Biomarkers of Gut Function and Health initiative.
